    Posted by PressReleases - May 8, 2012 14:15

John Morris Scientific is proud to introduce Julabo's latest addition to the new Presto® range of highly dynamic temperature control systems, the air-cooled A80 and water-cooled W80. With high efficiency and unsurpassed performance these new models are ideal for modern laboratories.

Both systems feature large heating (1.8 kW) and cooling (1.2 kW) capacities and a working temperature range from -80 to +250°C with one bath fluid, subject to availability of bath fluids. Current available fluid is -85 to +170ºC. They are robust and reliable even in increased room temperatures up to +40 °C. For optimized performance during operation the maximum heating capacity automatically adjusts to the power input of the main power supply.

Powerful, maintenance-free pumps provide up to 1.7 bar and pump up to 40 L/min max. They guarantee high flow rates at consistent pressure and dynamically adjust to viscosity changes of bath fluids. The required pump capacity can be adjusted in four stages or via a pre-programmed pressure value.

All units in the new Presto® range feature a filling opening which can be easily accessed from the top, whisper quiet operation and an integrated 5.7" industrial grade colour touch screen.

The new touch screen provides users with a clear and well organised view of important information while greatly improving user friendliness. Fingertip control via the new touch-screen makes the Presto® extremely easy to operate (even when wearing gloves). Extensive interfaces permit flexible application in laboratories with remote control via an Ethernet network, wireless control with JULABO's WirelessTEMP solution or integration into control systems.

As with other Julabo instruments, the new Presto® units have closed side panels without ventilation slits, thereby reducing the overall footprint.  A retractable handle and integrated rollers make it easy for one person to move the new Presto®.

    Reduced RSI Pipetting

    Posted by PressReleases - January 18, 2012 23:24

Gilson's new mechanical, air-displacement pipette, the Pipetman G has been specifically designed to reduce the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). With a new piston assembly, low-force springs and high quality grease, the Pipetman G decreases pipetting force in both micro and macro volumes by up to 50% (when compared with the Pipetman Neo) making it the lightest pipette on the market in regards to pipetting force.

With two tip ejector styles, plastic and metal, the Pipetman G is ideal for both corrosive and non-corrosive samples. Both tip ejector styles are equipped with a clip ejector for convenient access to serviceable parts.

The Pipetman G is available in eight different models with volumes ranging from 0.2µL-10mL. Features include a colour-coded push-button that corresponds to matching Gilson tip packaging and universal tip holder that allows for a secure fit of most brands of tips.

Based on the Pipetman Classic, the Pipetman G offers the same robustness and accuracy users expect from Gilson.

EVAC AG - Now supplied by John Morris Scientific

    Posted by PressReleases - November 14, 2011 20:24

John Morris Scientific are proud to be appointed as the new distributor for EVAC AG within Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the South West Pacific. Based in Switzerland, EVAC AG is an international leader in quick-release connections for high-demand vacuum and process technology applications including ultra high vacuum and high pressure hydraulics.

EVAC AG offer a wide range of standard and custom made chain clamps, flanges, fittings, seals and bellows, including:

KF Systems are frequently used for rough to high vacuum, up to 10E-9 mbar (100 nPa), or peak pressure up to 20 bar (2 MPa), depending on the flange diameter, seal material, and geometry of the centre ring. While inner centre rings are used for vacuum applications, outer centre rings are used for overpressure. Combinations of both are available, where both conditions are likely to occur.

KF Connections are available in sizes NW10/16 up to NW50 according to ISO. An additional size, KF NW63 is also available from EVAC AG with appropriate seals (elastomer, aluminium) and chain clamps.

CeFiX® Systems are the next generation of the old Conflat® (CF) system. They allow customers to create a EUHV leakproof connection within seconds. This connection (< 10E-11 mbar, <1 nPa) can carry an overpressure of up to 300 bar (using especially certified chain clamps with TÜV approval). This is achieved by using very hard nickel seals, even impossible to penetrate by a CF knife edge, but easily compressed using the gear-type force-multiplying mechanism of CeFiX® chain clamps. This technology requires only 50% of the CF compression force at seal surface in order to achieve gas-tight intermetallic diffusion bonds.

With a particle-free area-pressing mechanism, seals can now be re-used up to 10 times due to the fact that smooth overlapping areas do not exhibit the leaking deficiencies of the deep CF groove imprints. Another advantage of the wide overlapping area and wide 200 to 400µm crossection is its extensive thermocycling capability with a sheer range of -271 to +450 oC, usually breaking the fragile CF knife edge just after one cycle.

Tapered™ Systems allows customers to create a leak proof connection within seconds by tightening 1-2 screws (elastomer seals = 1 screw and aluminium edge seals = 2 screws in order to get a better force distribution). They are available in standard sizes from NW80 up to NW250 although larger sizes up to NW700 are available on request. Flanges are available in stainless steel as well as in glass (Duran®, quartz).

sTeRIc-clamp™ Systems provide a gap free connection for customers who need to meet cleaning in place (CIP) requirements. The seamless transition in between flanges, as well as the special wave design of bellows allows for in-situ brush cleaning of the system without opening and inserting bacteria or other contaminants from the outside. sTeRIc-clamp connections are available in sizes NW8 up to NW80 as standard.

    Heavy Duty Analytical Sieve Shaker

    Posted by PressReleases - October 14, 2011 19:15

The Analysette 18 by Fritsch is a vibratory, dry sieving machine designed for processing large quantities of materials.

The Analysette 18 is used for particle size analysis and grading of coarse-grained materials. The maximum feed quantity of 25 kg for sieving material and sieve stack means that it is also suited for use in pilot plant production and test series of large quantities.

Savings and test reliability can be achieved by replacing mechanical sieving with the Analysette 18. A maximum sample quantity of 6 kg can be processed in the measuring range 63 µm to 125 mm. Sieve process times are between 5 and 60 minutes.

The evaluation programme Autosieve, delivers reliable sieving results faster. Since the entire evaluation is performed via computer, mistakes made during weighing and calculating of individual sieve functions become obsolete.

    Benefits include:

    - Rapid sieving: 5- 60 minutes
    - Large sieving quantities: up to 6 kg
    - Maximum sieve diameter: 450 mm
    - Low noise output
    - Continuous operation
    - 2 year guarantee

For further information please contact customer service on 1800 251 799 or email info@johnmorris.com.au
