Gilson's new mechanical, air-displacement pipette, the Pipetman G has been specifically designed to reduce the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). With a new piston assembly, low-force springs and high quality grease, the Pipetman G decreases pipetting force in both micro and macro volumes by up to 50% (when compared with the Pipetman Neo) making it the lightest pipette on the market in regards to pipetting force.

With two tip ejector styles, plastic and metal, the Pipetman G is ideal for both corrosive and non-corrosive samples. Both tip ejector styles are equipped with a clip ejector for convenient access to serviceable parts.

Gilson have developed a new personal liquid chromatography system, the PLC 2020 to manage chemists purification needs on a more personal level. This innovative system is suitable for normal/reverse phase HPLC and FLASH purification applications and has been designed to support individuals or small groups of chemists.

Gilson are proud to introduce the Trackman, a portable light box that keeps track as you pipette from one microplate to another. Likened to a 'Personal Laboratory Assistant' this innovative tool will simplify your work, improve your productivity and reduce pipetting errors and cross-contamination.

The trackman contains LED lights which help you place 96 and 384 well microplates in the correct position. With a flexible design the Trackman is suitable for most microplates and pipettes (single and multichannel). It can be used either manually, by foot pedal or by setting a timer to move the lights at a designated interval.

The Trackman is compact (280 mm x 170 mm x 23 mm), lightweight (490g) and can fit on almost any bench top. For optimal positioning, the trackman can be used in a flat position or adjusted to a slight incline using a retractable stand.

John Morris Scientific are pleased to introduce Gilson’s new Fraction Trapping Liquid Chromatography (FTLC) System. Gilson’s new solution will remove 95% of the water content in fractions thus decreasing dry-down time.

The  Fraction Trapping Liquid Chromatography (FTLC) System is unlike any other system on the market and incorporates the durability of the Gilson GX-271 Liquid Handler/Injector, the power of three 306 HPLC Pumps and the precision of the 155 UV/VIS Detector with the ability for column switching via the VALVEMATE® II Valve Actuator.

The revolutionary FTLC System is ideally suited for processing fractions up to 25 mL volume and sample masses up to 500 mg that have been purified by preparative HPLC. The collected fractions are re-processed on the FTLC System.

The compounds are trapped on a polymer-based column and the water content of the fractions passes through to waste. Additionally, washing steps can also be performed for removal of salts, buffers and mobile phase modifiers such as TFA that can hinder further LC/MS analysis.

Fractions containing greater than even 50% water content can be processed and collected in 100% of organic solvent. Dry down time can be reduced to less than 30 minutes instead of 12-24 hours for heat sensitive samples.

The Gilson Pipetman Classic (also known as Pipetman P) is a fully adjustable air-displacement pipette with the selected volume shown on a digital indicator (Volumeter).

There are eight models in the Pipetman Classic series which cover a full range of volumes from 0.2ul to 10ml for most demanding tasks including clinical, research and control laboratories.

No lubrication is required and any parts that may come in contact with liquid are easy to clean or replace. The tip-holder and tip-ejector are fully autoclavable to avoid cross-contamination. A plastic connector makes removal and replacement of the tip-ejector easy.

All of the parts used in the manufacturing of the Pipetman are carefully checked, the pistons are carefully inspected, with a zero-defect tolerance. Each Pipetman has a unique Identification Number engraved into it making easy traceability.

John Morris Scientific is pleased to introduce a new detection solution for analytical and preparative HPLC applications, Gilson’s 171 and 172 Diode Array Detectors (DAD).

Photo diode array detection allows collection of the entire UV spectrum during the elution of a chromatographic peak.

DAD Detectors provide the full power of simultaneous multiple wavelength detection and spectral information with high resolution and sensitivity. The 171/172 Detectors allow for simultaneous acquisition of up to eight compound specific wavelengths for enhanced sensitivity.

The 172 Detector features 512 pixels with a pixel distance of 0.8 nm/pixel, for high spectral resolution, and a wavelength range of 190 to 610 nm. The 171 Detector features a lower spectral resolution in comparison to the 172 and a wavelength range of 190 to 720 nm at an economical price.

Both the 171/172 Detectors feature remote light fibre technology. Using fibre optic cables for the light path allows for an optional remote flow cell that can be positioned up to 1 metre away from the detector. This allows for almost a direct coupling of the column output to the flow cell for fast response time to better ensure accurate collection of the analytes of interest. An interchangeable flow cell design accommodates micro bore to preparative applications.

The 171/172 Diode Array Detectors are fully supported in Gilson’s TRILUTION® LC Software v2.0. TRILUTION LC v2.0 features spectral library creation, 3D and Iso-electric plots as well as spectrum and peak purity. The peak purity function in LC v2.0 provides graphical indication of peak purity and the capability for user-defined settings with automatic re-injection of a sample based on that peak purity value.

Gilson’s Microman is a fully adjustable positive displacement pipette which uses disposable capillary pistons to ensure accurate, safe and fast contamination free pipetting.

The Microman’s syringe like capillary pistons eliminate the air space between the pipette body and the sample, protecting it against contamination and any trace carry over. Sample integrity is essential for procedures such as PCR, forensics, cancer diagnostics and genetic disease testing. Even very viscous or high density liquids such as glycerol solutions, detergents, oil or syrup can be easily pipetted with accuracy and precision.

The risk of pipette damage from aggressive solvents is eliminated as neither the sample or its vapours can not come in contact with the Microman internal parts. Similarly there is no risk of contaminating the pipette when working with hazardous materials such as radioactive compounds.

The Microman is available in six models from M10 (1-10µl) up to M1000 (100-1000 µl). It is lightweight (only 50g) and designed to adapt to all users, right or left handed. The Microman is easy to hold, has extra support through the gentle hooked top and the handle is insulated to prevent hand-warming effect.

The Microman requires very little maintenance, as there is no need to recalibrate it when the piston capillary is changed. Capillary pistons are available in pre-assembled, sterilised and racked models.

Gilson Diamond Range Tips are made of pure translucent polypropylene with no additives or dyes. The tips are moulded to perfectly fit Gilson pipettes - there is no need to force the tips onto the pipette shaft.

Diamond Tips are available in a range of packaging options which are colour coded for easy recognition of tip volume. Diamond Tips have the following features:
