New Brunswick Scientific are pleased to introduce a new PC-based software package, BioCommand® SFI for trending and archiving critical data from your general lab equipment.

BioCommand® SFI has the ability to monitor and data log up to 32 units simultaneously. It can be used with any RS-232, RS-485 or OPC-compatible system in your lab, including Innova® & Excella® shakers, Galaxy® CO2 Incubators and Innova® & Premium Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer.

This easy-to-use software records temperature, shaking speed, gas concentrations, humidity, and alarms. Trend screens are customizable, enabling you to choose up to eight parameters per window for on-screen monitoring. A built-in notes feature for annotating alarm events allows you to add custom messages such as "door opened" or "power out".

BioCommand® SFI is based on New Brunswick's BioCommand bioprocessing software for fermentors and bioreactors, which adds more powerful features and options for control capabilities.

New Brunswick Scientific have introduced a new bench-top bioreactor, the CelliGen® BLU for high density animal cell culture in research or production. This bench-top bioreactor features pre-validated, pre-sterilized single use vessels (5 and 14 litre) with an advanced controller, combining all the benefits of single-use technology with the trusted performance and true scalability of a stirred-tank design.

The CelliGene® BLU bioreactor contains powerful Reactor Process Controller (RPC) firmware which provides advanced process management and monitoring capabilities. An adjustable touch-screen monitor allows operators to easily set and monitor up to 32 process parameters, store up to 10 recipes for easy access and view up to 8 parameters simultaneously on user-customizable trend graphs. Built-In security features allow managers to set different levels of functionality for various operators and passwords to prevent unauthorized users from making changes to the system.

Three high-performance, assignable, fixed-speed pumps enable additions and harvesting. Built-in controls are also provided for temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and 3- or 4-gas mixing. Up to four Thermal Mass Flow Controllers (TMFC) for fully independent gas control are available for sparging, and a gas overlay with TMFC or Rotameter is available for independent control of gas entering the vessel headspace.

A range of accessories are available including weight scales for measuring additions and vessel volume, gas analysers, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software, validation packages
