MIT researchers have designed a system that could deliver medication and optical signals directly to the brain.
By creating multifunction fibres less than the width of a hair, these fibres could continuously monitor a patient and track the effects of inputs. These flexible, soft and pliable fibres may replace the metal and glass devices in common use today.
