The Vacuubrand Chemistry-HYBRID-pump RC 6 provides the vacuum performance of an oil-sealed two-stage rotary vane pump (10-3 mbar) with the unique ability to safely pump condensable or aggressive gases.

The RC 6 is ideal for benchtop freeze dryers, centrifugal evaporators, high-boiling point solvent evaporation and fine vacuum distillation.

Common rotary vane pumps’ corrosion weaknesses are overcome using a chemistry inert diaphragm backing pump. This pump evacuates the oil stages of the rotary vane pump and reduces both the oxygen partial pressure and the partial pressure of corrosive gases. Any reactions within the oil and potential corrosion attacks on the pumping unit are therefore significantly reduced. To ensure the dew point of most common solvents is never reached, the RC 6 balances the pressure and temperature within the oil reservoir. This drastically reduces the occurrence of condensation within the oil stages and increases the oil’s lifetime by many hundreds of percent.

The RC 6 can operate in a variety of applications without the need for a cold trap. Other noteworthy advantages include its drastic reduction of waste oil, its unique ability to condense and recover hazardous vapours, and its resistance to corrosive vapours.
